Bahrain showcased a commanding performance to clinch a decisive victory over Tanzania in the Malaysia Open T20I Championship. Opting to bat first, Bahrain set a formidable score of 135/8.
In response, Tanzania was restricted to 83 all out, granting Bahrain a significant 52-run triumph.
Sarfraz, Bahrain’s opener, spearheaded the batting with a brisk 37 runs.
Despite losing Toor early, a pivotal partnership between Sohail and Sarfraz stabilized the innings. Bahrain’s middle-order faced challenges, but Rizwan and Sathya’s vigorous hitting ensured a competitive total.
Tanzania’s pursuit of the target was thwarted by Bahrain’s potent bowling lineup.
Rizwan, previously successful with the bat, shone with the ball, securing a remarkable five-wicket haul for just 12 runs.
Majid’s three wickets for 21 runs further dismantled Tanzania’s batting order. Rizwan’s stellar all-round contribution earned him the ‘Man of the Match’ title.
This win solidifies Bahrain’s lead in the series, maintaining their perfect record with three victories.
