Al Najma claim volleyball league bronze

Al Najma captured the bronze medals for the 2023/2024 Isa bin Rashid Bahrain Volleyball League.

Najma secured their place amongst the Kingdom’s top three after defeating Muharraq in the single game for third 3-2 (25-18, 25-22, 24-26, 18-25, 15-13), played at Isa bin Rashid Arena at Isa Sports City in Riffa.

Following the contest, Najma players and team staff were awarded their medals in a ceremony attended by Bahrain Volleyball Association officials.

Najma were the silver-medallists from last year. Meanwhile, the stage is now set for game two of the best-of-three championship series between defending champions Dar Kulaib and Al Ahli, taking place tonight.

Dar Kulaib will be looking to secure back-to-back titles while Ahli will be hoping to extend the finals series to a decisive third game, scheduled for March 23.

Dar Kulaib won game one 3-1 (26-24, 25-21, 25-27, 25-13), and are now gunning for their fourth league title.

They won last year’s crown after beating Najma in a two-game sweep.

Ahli are aiming for their sixth title. Their last two championships were backto-back triumphs for the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 seasons.
