In a significant milestone for Bahrain on the international cricket stage, the Bahrain Cricket Federation (BCF) has been honoured with the ICC Cricket 4 Good Social Impact Initiative of the Year Award for the Asia Region.

This prestigious award from the International Cricket Council (ICC) recognises the BCF’s profound impact on the community through its initiatives that have united and expanded the cricketing community in Bahrain.

The BCF’s efforts have successfully brought together members from schools, community clubs, and women, fostering a vibrant and inclusive cricket community that has made a lasting social impact on Bahrain’s sports scene.

The ICC, as the global governing body for cricket, represents 108 members and is dedicated to the growth and administration of the game. It also organizes all ICC Events and appoints match officials for sanctioned international matches.

This accolade is a testament to the Federation’s unwavering commitment to leveraging cricket as a force for positive social change within the Bahrain community.

“At the heart of this achievement lies the visionary support and encouragement of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

His patronage has not only propelled the growth of cricket but has also fostered a sense of community and sportsmanship among us all,” said Mohammad Mansoor, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Bahrain Cricket Federation. “We are also thankful to Mohammed Shahid, Advisor to the President, Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, CEO of KHK Sports, for instrumental in adopting cricket into KHK sports vision.”

The recognition also highlights the collective efforts of the General Sports Authority, Bahrain Olympic Committee, the Federation’s board members, supporters, players, coaches, and staff, whose dedication and passion have been the driving force behind the Federation’s initiatives.

“Your enthusiasm and love for the game have propelled us forward, turning dreams into reality,” added Mansoor. From promoting youth development programmes to fostering gender equality and social inclusion, the Federation’s endeavours have culminated in this momentous achievement, using cricket as a catalyst for social progress and community development.
