Bahrain’s Al Qaid and Maroom have advanced to the semi-finals of the men’s 10-ball billiards doubles competition at the Arab Billiards and Snooker Federation Cup, hosted by the Kingdom.
They secured their spot with a decisive 9-6 victory over Oman and a nail-biting 9-7 win against the UAE.
However, Bahrain’s other pairs faced tough competition.
The duo of Ali Abdulkarim and Ibrahim Ghuloom lost to Iraq with a score of 6-9, while Mohammed Al Fahal and Jassim Al Sayegh narrowly missed advancing after an 8-9 defeat to Libya.
In the men’s 10-ball singles event, Lebanon’s Mazen Barjawi claimed the gold medal.
Barjawi triumphed over Iraq’s Karak Abdulwahid, winning 11-4 after overcoming an early 0-2 deficit.
His performance showcased remarkable resilience and skill. Al Qaid’s outstanding performance in the doubles event highlights Bahrain’s talent in cue sports, signaling a promising journey ahead in the tournament.
