BMW has surpassed Tesla in the European electric vehicle (EV) market for the first time.
The German automaker reportedly delivered 14,869 electric vehicles in Europe, surpassing Tesla by 308 units.
Tesla experienced a decline in sales last month, with its Model Y and Model 3 seeing a 16% and 17% drop in sales, respectively.
Despite this, the Tesla Model Y remained Europe’s best-selling EV in July, followed by the Volvo EX30 and Volkswagen ID.4.
While the overall European car market grew by 2%, EV sales in the region saw a 6% decline.
According to reports, Europe recorded a total of 1.03 million new car sales, with 54% of these being SUVs.
