Selena Gomez dismisses talk of Taylor Swift cameo in Only Murders in the Building

Selena Gomez has emphasized that Taylor Swift is too “busy” to make an appearance in ‘Only Murders in the Building’. The 32-year-old singer and actress, who stars as Mabel Mora in the popular Disney+ series, expressed her desire for Taylor to make a cameo on the show. However, despite the ‘Cruel Summer’ singer recently finishing the European leg of her ‘Eras’ tour, Selena doubts that her friend has the time to get involved.

When asked about the possibility of Taylor appearing on the show, Selena humorously responded to E! News, “You’re hilarious. She’s a little busy, you guys.” However, she did admit, “Oh dear. I love that.”

Although Selena dismissed the idea, her co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short joked that Taylor is eager to be part of the series and that they can hardly keep her away. Steve quipped, “Listen, she calls us every day. Here—she’s calling right now. Ahh, I’ll take it later.” Martin added, “No, I was talking to Taylor around 3am.”

Steve Martin, the ‘Father of the Bride’ star, went on to praise both Selena and Taylor for how gracefully they handle their lives in the spotlight. He said, “Here’s how I unite Taylor Swift and Selena. Taylor handles everything perfectly, and so does Selena. In every situation I’ve seen—politically, dealing with trolls, everything—she just seems to have a wisdom about how to manage things quietly and effortlessly. And I know that you have to think about these things.”

Selena, touched by his words, replied, “I wish I was recording that to send to her.”

Recently, Selena was nominated for an Emmy Award for her role in ‘Only Murders in the Building’, and her co-stars were quick to congratulate her. She told The Hollywood Reporter, “I received flowers from [Martin and Steve]. I’m in LA, Marty’s always all over the world, and Steve is in New York. So, obviously, we can’t be together, but we’ll celebrate when we’re back together again. But it was crazy.”
