Matt Damon admits he couldn’t “imagine living under” the same intense “scrutiny” as his friend Ben Affleck. The 53-year-old actor, who first starred with Ben in 1997’s *Good Will Hunting*, reflects on their “parallel careers in many ways,” noting that while Ben has typically attracted more public attention, Matt himself has mostly flown under the radar. Speaking on the Radio Times podcast, he shared, “25 years ago, gossip magazines were huge, but they ignored me. I wasn’t an exciting story; just a married guy, which is boring! People read magazines for scandal and sex. I’ve been really lucky.”
He continued, “Especially when I look at Ben, [‘The Instigators’ co-star] Casey’s brother. We’ve had similar career paths, but I can’t imagine living under that scrutiny for 25 years.”
Matt married Luciana, 48, in 2005, and together they have daughters Isabella, 18, Gia, 16, and Stella, 13, with Luciana also having a daughter, Alexia, 24, from a previous relationship. Ben, 51, has expressed his discomfort with too much attention in the past. In an interview on Kevin Hart’s ‘Hart to Heart,’ he said, “I see myself as a director, but I’m a little bit shy. I also don’t like a lot of attention, which is why people think I’m always mad when someone sticks a camera in my face. I don’t mind pictures at a club or premiere, but when it comes to my children, that’s different.”
