Selena Gomez has opened up about her experience singing in her latest crime-comedy film, Emilia Perez. The 32-year-old actress, who stars alongside Zoe Saldana and Karla Sofía Gascon, revealed that performing the song Mi Camino in the movie was a "therapeutic" experience for her.

Speaking at the Telluride Film Festival, Selena—who plays Jessi Del Monte in the film—shared that the song originally had a rougher sound but evolved into something more personal during the creative process. "It became almost like a ballad," she explained, highlighting how the song tells the story of a woman's journey through different phases of life.

Gomez also noted the challenge of stepping out of her usual singing style to embody her character’s voice. "I had to think about the limits I could reach within my character," she said. "It was so much fun but also therapeutic, and I thought it was beautifully done."

Beyond Emilia Perez, Selena recently expressed her admiration for acting legend Meryl Streep. After working with Meryl on the hit series Only Murders in the Building, Selena shared how one particular moment left her emotional.

"My favorite moment was watching Meryl sing onstage," she told The Hollywood Reporter. "She did it acapella every time, and I cried. I wasn’t in the scene, but I was in the audience, and it was so moving. Her commitment to her craft is remarkable."
