Selena Gomez, the 32-year-old actress and entrepreneur, has reached billionaire status thanks to her successful cosmetics brand, Rare Beauty. However, she prefers to focus on gratitude rather than discussing financial matters, which she finds “distasteful.”

In an interview with *Entertainment Tonight*, Gomez expressed her appreciation for the support she has received from her fans, stating, “I’m very grateful. I think it’s distasteful to talk about money. But I am giving all the credit to the people who buy the products. They’re the ones that made this dream of mine come true. So I’m really, really honored and just happy.”

Growing up in Grand Prairie, Texas, Gomez faced financial hardships alongside her single mother, whom she describes as a dedicated provider. Recalling their struggles, she shared, “I can remember about seven times when our car got stuck on the highway because we’d run out of gas money. My mom gave up everything for me and had three jobs. I remember always being reminded that people had less than we did, and we didn’t have much. But I felt like we did because my mom was always doing a hundred million things just to make me happy, and we volunteered at soup kitchens on Thanksgiving.”

Selena Gomez began her career in the early 2000s on *Barney and Friends* before guest-starring on popular Disney Channel shows like *The Suite Life of Zack and Cody* and *Hannah Montana* alongside Miley Cyrus. Her breakout role came in 2007 with the launch of *Wizards of Waverly Place*, for which she reportedly earned $30,000 per episode over four seasons, solidifying her status as one of the highest-paid child stars in the industry.
