Hugh Grant has fumed about what he called a “creepy” and “intrusive” encounter at London’s Heathrow Airport.

The actor, 64, took to X to recount an experience that left him feeling insulted, particularly for his children.

In his post, Hugh explained while traveling with his wife, Anna Eberstein, 46, and their kids, the immigration officer’s questioning of his family left much to be desired.

He said online: “Just came through Heathrow with wife and children

. “We all have the same last name (Grant) on our passports.

“Immigration officer engages my children in chit chat then whispers to them ‘Are these your Mum and Dad?’ Intrusive, insulting and creepy.”

Hugh, who shares daughter Tabitha Xiao, 13, and son Felix Chang, 11, with actress Tinglan Hong, also has three children with Anna – son John Mungo, 12, and daughters Lulu Danger, nine, and six-year-old Blue. A spokesperson for Heathrow Airport confirmed the immigration officers involved are part of the U.K. Home Office’s Border Force, not employees of the airport itself.

A Border Force article on the U.K. government’s website notes if a child is traveling with someone who may not appear to be their parent – such as in the case of different last names – officials may ask questions to clarify the relationship.
