Practising Yoga with Love

Manama : Fatima Al Balooshi considers herself to be blessed with a very supportive family, which has encouraged her to travel and follow her passions from a very young age. She graduated with a degree in Architecture, which is something that has served as a great value in her life and will always be in her heart.

But later, Al Balooshi found herself developing a passion in yoga, which became part of her lifestyle. She nurtured this passion from being a crazy fitness fan when she used to run 10km in the morning, play basketball and train with a friend all in one day until she decided to try out yoga a few years ago. And it changed her whole life.

Al Balooshi later got accredited and trained as a yoga instructor at a Registered Yoga School that offers a 200-hour programme.

Besides yoga, she has interests in basketball, running, painting and crafts. She also enjoys singing as well as playing the guitar. Another passion of Al Balooshi is interior and landscape designing as it combines her love for architecture and nature.

Passion to inspire and teach

Speaking to DT News, Al Balooshi opened up about her passion for yoga instructing, explaining how much of a drive it has given her to teach and inspire her students.

“Seeing the impact you have on your students’ lives or when you inspire someone; that’s where the magic is. With yoga, I get to help others, learn from my students and know some amazing people, which is surely a blessing. The peace I see in my students after the class gets over is always the goal,” she said.

Explaining how her passion started, she added, “I decided to try out yoga a few years ago to help with my flexibility and it changed my whole life. I fell in love with yoga ever since, it’s a beautiful practice. I’ve always been one of those people who are good in multiple things, but are never constant enough to be amazing at one thing. However, yoga has definitely been an exception to that as it’s a lifestyle.”

Al Balooshi then went on to say what inspires her: “Mother Nature inspires me. A beautiful sunrise, a flower when it blossoms, and how mountains stand high and how clouds form in the sky. I’ve always been inspired by all of that. I’m also inspired by my mother, the strongest, smartest and kindest woman I know.”

When asked what message she would like to leave for people to be inspired from, she said, “I would like to tell everyone that they should do everything out of love, instead of being motivated by fear or hatred. To understand the universe around, one must first understand the universe within.”

Al Balooshi is currently working on setting up a two-month beginners’ yoga course and has also started working on different landscaping projects. She also hopes to travel and visit more places soon in order to learn about various cultures to infuse them into her practice.
