Goodbye tooth decay, welcome stronger teeth

ManamaTooth decay in children has always been a matter of great concern for parents time and again. More so in the modern times, where food and food habits have undergone drastic changes primarily due to alterations in lifestyle. Thus preventive dental care assumes a centre stage in a child’s growth stages, especially for developing stronger and long-lasting teeth.

Explaining the importance of fluoride treatment, Dr. Santhosh B.P., Paediatric Dentist at RBH Medical Centre in Rifaa, says: “Fluoride treatment affects exposed surfaces of erupted dentition, making them stronger to fight decay, they demineralise initial decay and inhibit decay producing bacteria, hence providing protection against caries.”

“The treatment is indicated for children in the age group between 7 to 14 years having moderate to high risk of dental cavities. Recommended frequency of fluoride application is 1-2 times per year depending on risk to decay,” he adds.

In order to encourage children in understanding the importance of dental care, RBH Medical Centre, Riffa has come up with a bundled package whereby, in addition to fluoride treatment and teeth cleaning, free consultation can be availed on other services such as free consultations on Visual Acuity and Dental Health.
