Katy Perry hits out at the ‘popular misconceptions of being a full-time mum’
Los Angeles
Katy Perry has shared her thoughts on the ‘misconceptions’ that surround being a fulltime mum. The 35-year-old singer welcomed her daughter Daisy, with fiance Orlando Bloom, last month and she took to Twitter on Thursday to set the record straight on a number of issues.
Katy is returning to work and she said there were a few things that needed to be set straight about motherhood and working a job. She did so in a series of tweets, which began with her writing: “Popular misconception: being a mom isn’t a full-time job.” Katy then added three more tweets to the list as she spelled out what she thinks is perceived wrongly about being a mother.
She continued: “part 2: when a mom finally goes back to work (whatever profession they do) it’s not like they been coming from months of ‘time off…’ she’s coming from a full-time job… of being a mom, lol.” Next, she urged her fans to give some love to their own mothers for what they have done to help raise them. Katy’s next tweet was: “Part 3: call your mom and tell her you to love and appreciate her and advocate for paid family leave!” She concluded the series of tweets by writing: “Part 4. I love my job"
