Nine-year-old boy's conversation with his new girlfriend wins hearts online

With the prevalence of social media and cell phones among today's youth, it’s hard to blame kids for trying to act older.

But as a series of text messages between San Diego-based Vine star Freddy Amazin's nine-year-old brother and his fourth grade girlfriend shows, this kind of faux maturity can have incredibly awkward – and amusing - results. Grabs of the conversation, which were shared online by the social media celebrity, show the young stud trying to work out his relationship status with one lucky young lady – while doing his best to look as cool and uninterested as possible.

'So r we together?' asks the girl, to which the boy responds: 'I don't know do you want to be together?' She takes it one step further, saying: 'Only if u want to.'

But he's still unsure, replying: 'I don't care it's your choice.' Finally, she gains some resolve and asks: 'But I wanna know do u like me that you'll be my bf... ??? [sic]'

The boy responds in the affirmative, but the girl is still doubtful, asking: 'So r we together and I don't want u saying idc bc then Imma think you don't want to [sic].'

Eventually, he appeases her, saying: 'Yes because you want to be and I do to [sic].'

However, she's still not satisfied with his level of commitment, asking him next: 'Do u love me??...???????'

Naturally, he says yes. To keep the conversation going, she asks him: 'Wyd [what are you doing]', which his mistakes for 'Why'.

'Because', he replies, to which she responds: 'It means what are you doing'.

'I'm just in my room texting you,' he says, before making a grand gesture and asking her: 'You want ice cream for tomorrow cuz imma try and bring a dollar or two so I can buy something.'

It's soon time for him to break off their excruciating - but amusing - text conversation, saying: 'I'm about to work out and almost got the six pack.'

He tells her he loves her, to which she responds: 'I love u more babe.'

'No cuz I love you more than the galaxy,' he says, adding: 'And I love you more than the universe.'

'Well that is really big so u must love me,' she replies. He then goes out like a boss, saying: 'Yup and I won.'

The hilarious conversation was posted to Twitter by Freddy on November 9, along with the caption: 'My nine-year-old brother and his girl are goals tbh.'

His post has received more than 11,000 likes and 6,000 retweets. Commenters found the nine-year-old's exchange hilarious, with one person writing: 'HAHAHHA THE ICE CREAM PART GOT ME DYING.'

Another user was blown away by their pseudo-adult conversation, sharing: 'Jesus Christ, I was eating plants at that age.'
