Man builds plane using YouTube to fly it to his own wedding
What an idea for a bridegroom to make a stylish entry to his wedding, and live a childhood dream too!
Asmelash Zeferu has spent 10 years, building an airplane by watching tutorial videos on YouTube and come November 28, he will start its engine for the first time, and hopefully if everything goes well that day, marry his fiancé Seble Bakale, CNN reported.
The best part is that he has never flown before, but he did make an attempt before.
The first attempt was five months ago when he taxied to the runway, but with a broken propeller. Now he has upgraded the model salvaged from Volkswagen Transporter and increased the horsepower to 78.
Zeferu told to CNN, that his childhood dream was to become a pilot, but he couldn’t fulfil it as he wasn’t tall enough for air school.
This setback did not stop him from chasing his dream.
"I decided to build my own aircraft if I couldn't be a pilot," he reasons, "then I'd be able to fly high in the sky," Zeferu said.
Touching the skies in his homemade airplane is only the first step for Zeferu. He hopes a flight school will accept him in the near future so he could train as a commercial pilot. "My dream is to become an aerospace engineer at NASA," he admits. "And I will be."
