Lockheed Martin, H-D Launch one-off custom motorcycle
Lockheed Martin and Harley-Davidson have collaborated to create a one of a kind custom motorcycle that draws inspiration from the USS Milwaukee.
This exclusive motorcycle based on Harley-Davidson Softail Slim S has been customized by Ray Drea, Chief Designer, Harley Davidson. The design has been inspired from historic WWII choppers and Drea’s imagination of the Fincantieri Marinette Marine Corps shipyard in Marinette, Wisconsin.
The one-off Harley Davidson has been introduced to commemorate commissioning of USS Milwaukee and is in honor of the US Navy and city of Milwaukee.
The customized bike will be auctioned off to benefit National Military Family Association, dedicated to serving the families behind the uniform.
The Harley-Davidson customized bike sports a grey colour on tanks and fenders, which are the same colour seen on navy ships. It sports wire spoke wheels, a black saddle and has the words USN distinctively inscribed on its fuel tank.
The bike will be displayed at the USS Milwaukee Commissioning week. The USS Milwaukee will make its way to homeport following commissioning ceremony and integration into the fleet.
