The Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF) is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 16th edition of the Faber Castell Spectra, one of Bahrain’s largest and most anticipated art competitions for students. The event will take place in the first week of December 2024, culminating on Friday, December 6th, at the Indian School – Isa Town premises.

Since its inception in 2009, Faber Castell Spectra has grown into a significant platform for young talent, fostering creativity and promoting cultural exchange through art. The competition has become an annual highlight for students across various schools in Bahrain, attracting participants from institutions following both Bahraini and international curriculums. The event celebrates artistic skill in a friendly, supportive environment, welcoming diverse participants from different cultural backgrounds.

A Long-Standing Tradition of Artistic Excellence

This year marks the 16th anniversary of Faber Castell Spectra, and once again, Faber Castell is proudly supporting the event as the Title Sponsor. Malabar Gold joins as the Presenter of the event, further enhancing its prestige and reach. The competition aims to nurture young artists by providing them with the opportunity to showcase their work, while also encouraging creativity across Bahrain’s student community.

The event is divided into four categories based on age groups:

  • 5 to 8 years
  • 8 to 11 years
  • 11 to 14 years
  • 14 to 18 years

Participants will compete within their respective age groups, and the competition is exclusively available through schools and institutions. Faber Castell will generously provide all participants with free drawing materials, ensuring that every student has the tools to bring their creative visions to life.

Exciting Prizes and Recognition

The Faber Castell Spectra 2024 competition will recognize excellence with prizes across all age categories. The top five winners in each category will receive trophies and certificates, while the top 50 in each group will be awarded medals. Every participant will also receive a certificate of participation, ensuring that each contribution is celebrated.

Additionally, the winning artworks, along with other outstanding submissions, will be featured in the 2025 ICRF Wall and Desk Calendars, which will be launched later in December. These calendars will be distributed widely to supporters, corporates, educational institutions, and businesses in Bahrain.

ICRF’s Ongoing Commitment to the Community

For over 25 years, ICRF has been a lifeline for the Indian community in Bahrain, supporting more than 100,000 individuals with services ranging from medical aid to emergency relief. The event is a reflection of ICRF’s continued dedication to supporting vulnerable members of the community. The organization works closely with the government, Bahrain’s Ruling Family, the Indian Embassy, and various agencies to deliver essential services, including legal aid, mental health support, and financial assistance for repatriating the bodies of deceased workers.

ICRF remains committed to making a positive impact in the lives of low-income Indian workers and their families, ensuring that help is available in times of need.
