Ariana Grande has revealed that she first sought therapy at the age of eight, following the divorce of her parents. The 31-year-old pop star shared that although she was too young to fully process the emotions at the time, therapy became a crucial part of her life as she grew older.

In an interview with The Sun on Sunday’s Bizarre column, Ariana explained, "I first saw a therapist when I was eight after my parents’ divorce, but I don’t think I was mature enough to process things. But as I have gotten older, my therapist has been everything to me."

The Into You hitmaker has previously spoken about how therapy has been "life-saving" for her. She is also an advocate for mental health services, calling for therapy to be made available to everyone, regardless of financial status. "Therapy has saved my life. That is why I am so passionate about making therapy and mental health services available for all. It shouldn’t just be for those that can afford it," she said.

In addition to her journey with therapy, Ariana is currently starring as Glinda in the highly anticipated adaptation of the Broadway musical Wicked, a prequel to The Wizard of Oz. She shared that filming the movie has been an emotional experience, especially as she and her co-star, Cynthia Erivo, witness the audience's reactions to the final product.

“We have become such criers—especially in the last few weeks,” Ariana said. “As we have been able to see the final product of what we have done, and see people’s reactions to the movie—it’s just been so emotional.”

Ariana also expressed the deep bond she shares with Cynthia, who plays Elphaba, the misunderstood green girl in the film. "Cynthia and I just randomly burst out crying—but don’t worry, they are good tears! Honestly, she has become my sister," Ariana said. "The first time we met, we thought we’d have a short conversation about what we wanted to achieve creatively, but it ended up with us talking for hours and bonding over so many things."

The two actresses have formed a lasting friendship, and Ariana believes their connection will remain strong for years to come.
