Pakistan School in Bahrain marks 75th Pakistan Independence Day

Independence Day, observed annually on 14 August, is a national holiday in Pakistan. It commemorates the day when Pakistan achieved independence and was declared a sovereign state.

Pakistan’ Independence Day is a very unique and significant day for every Muslim in the subcontinent. This day commemorates the tremendous achievement of the Independence of Pakistan on August 14, 1947. Pakistan being an independent nation stands for national unity, social justice, religious harmony, economic parity, legal protection, cultural tolerance, the enlightened vision of the future, elimination of ethnic and religious differences, and above all a patriotic fervour to espouse the above ideals. On this Great Day, Pakistan School sends its best wishes to all our fellow compatriots in Bahrain.

Let’s salute and remember the sacrifices and sufferings of the great many for this great achievement. We are happy to present a synopsis of Pakistan School, Bahrain on this joyous occasion.

The genesis of Pakistan School, being a community school goes back to the later part of the 1960s when the leading visionary members of the community realized the need for a schooling system for their children, leading to the establishment of a small primary school in 1968 in a rented building in Fariq Fadil area of Manama.

After a few years, the school was upgraded to secondary level education following affiliation with the Federal Board, Islamabad, Pakistan. In 1984, the new campus of the Pakistan School was constructed in Isa town, which was inaugurated by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.

Two new blocks, Jinnah Block and Sir Sayed Block were constructed in Isa town Campus, between 1994-95. Today Pakistan school has two wings, Manama (Primary) and the main campus, Isa Town. Pakistan School, being a community school is delivering quality education to students from more than 20 different nationalities.

Besides Pakistanis, more than a thousand Bahraini students are on the roll of the school, which is an indicator of the quality of education offered here and the trust reposed by the Bahraini community in Pakistan School. Pakistan School, being a community school has laid down a well-defined and practical network of extra and co-curricular activities for the personality and the character-building of the students. These activities are conducted on inter-class, inter-house and inter-school levels.

A large number of outgoing students of Pakistan School have been working as successful doctors, engineers, businessmen and in many other fields worldwide. Pakistani students have been performing tremendously in the Bahrain level sports, co-curricular and cultural activities.

In the last five years, the school has brought about tremendous progress in all spheres. A lot of renovation and maintenance work, replacing of all window AC’s with new split AC’s to provide a calm and peaceful classroom environment for effective learning, the addition of huge infrastructure and modern facilities for the students, professional development programs for the faculty are a few to name here.

Pakistan School is a community school in Bahrain that keeps Arabic as a compulsory subject in the curriculum for all classes. An Islamic Center has been established in the school to create a generation equipped with the right knowledge of Islam. The Board of Management has been contributing immensely to the progress and development of the school.

The Board has been working relentlessly to bring all possible improvements in the school’s system and to facilitate the students, parents and staff in the best possible ways.

Last year with the sudden outbreak of COVID-19, in-school teaching-learning activities were suspended for the health safety of all. Pakistan School started devising effective strategies to facilitate and keep imparting quality education online. All available platforms for online teaching were analyzed and the most suitable ones were adopted as means of effective live lectures daily. Licensed versions of online teaching platforms were brought into practice. New and high quality PC’s were urgently purchased to make sure uninterrupted and effective continuity of online teaching.

All the available options were utilized in the best interest of the students and their parents. School kept constantly in touch with all the students and parents through the school’s official website, Google Classroom and 24/7 official WhatsApp numbers to bridge the distance between school and students due to Covid-19. Relentless efforts were made, effective and feasible strategies were devised due to which we were able to complete the entire session successfully without any unnecessary breaks.

Pakistan School, being a community school has earned a name of its own for participation in the national, cultural and social festivals to strengthen the bond of its deep love and affiliation with Bahrain. Besides imparting quality education, Pakistan School keeps working hard to inculcate leadership qualities, a sense of responsibility and independence in the students for their bright future.

The sole aim of Pakistan school is to create a new generation inculcating in them qualities needed to be visionaries to lead their country in the future. Happy Independence Day!
