THREE QUALITIES THAT MAKE BAHRAIN HOME FOR EVERYONE

By The Daily Tribune CEO ABDUL JALEEL ABDULLA CEO

As a long-term resident expatriate in the beautiful Kingdom of Bahrain, I feel deep gratitude and pride as we celebrate Bahrain’s National Day. This remarkable occasion marks the country’s independence and provides an opportunity to reflect on the extraordinary qualities that make Bahrain a true gem in the Gulf.

One of the most striking aspects of life in Bahrain is the profound spirit of tolerance that permeates every facet of society. Bahrain has long been a melting pot of cultures, religions, and traditions, creating a harmonious coexistence that is truly inspiring.

I have always felt welcomed and respected as an expatriate, regardless of my background. The Bahraini people’s open-mindedness and acceptance of diversity contribute to a sense of unity that is a source of pride for everyone fortunate enough to call this island home.

The quality of life in Bahrain is unparalleled, offering a perfect blend of modernity and tradition. The Kingdom has made remarkable strides in infrastructure development, healthcare, and education, ensuring that residents enjoy a high standard of living.

The seamless integration of modern amenities with the timeless charm of Bahrain’s cultural heritage creates a unique atmosphere that caters to the needs and aspirations of a diverse population. Beyond the tangible facets of life in Bahrain, what distinguishes this nation is the authentic friendliness of its people.

Bahrainis are renowned for their warmth and hospitality, fostering an environment where expatriates like me find it effortless to establish meaningful connections. In the early stages of my career in Bahrain, I served as a supervisor for a Bahraini family’s business. During that time, Madam Sara, my employer, displayed exceptional kindness. She would personally prepare and send my lunch and dinner from her home daily.

On numerous occasions, Madam Sara’s sons, who hold prominent positions in the police and defence departments, would go out of their way to deliver the meals directly to my bachelor accommodation, spanning the distance from Busaiteen to Manama. Their genuine gestures were not merely acts of duty but emanated from a sincere fondness. I was consistently surprised by the depth of their heartfelt generosity.

Their actions stand out as a shining example of camaraderie, epitomising the spirit of benevolence that defines this nation. The Bahraini people’s kindness extends beyond personal interactions to the broader community. The numerous cultural events and festivals hosted throughout the year bring together people from all walks of life, fostering a sense of unity and shared joy.

I vividly recall attending the Bahraini National Day festivities, where locals and expatriates celebrated, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to inclusivity. In my years here, I have come to appreciate Bahrain not only for its stunning landscapes and modern amenities but also for the intangible qualities that make it a truly exceptional place to live.

The Kingdom’s commitment to tolerance, quality of life, and friendship sets a commendable example. As we raise our flags and join in the festivities on Bahrain’s National Day, let us celebrate the remarkable journey of this nation and the values that continue to make it a beacon of harmony and coexistence in the Gulf. Happy National Day, Bahrain!
