Former Rolls-Royce design chief Ian Cameron, known for his pivotal role in the automaker's design renaissance with the Phantom and Ghost ranges, was tragically stabbed to death at his home in Bavaria on July 12.
German newspaper reports have identified a suspect via surveillance camera footage, who police believe is the killer.
The suspect was seen shopping at a store less than a mile from Cameron's house before changing clothes and appearing at Cameron's door. Surveillance images captured him wearing light pants, a dark blue hoodie, a red backpack, and "yellow-green gloves," matching descriptions from neighbors.
Reports indicate that someone had cut the wires on the home security system, suggesting the suspect or an accomplice had been casing the house for several days.
The killer rang the doorbell and attacked Cameron as soon as he opened the front door, stabbing the designer to death. Cameron's wife, Verena Kloos, managed to escape to a neighbor's house and called the police.
The tragic loss of Ian Cameron has shocked the automotive design community, where his contributions have left a lasting legacy
