HRH Prince Salman highlights UN’s key role in uniting world for ‘security and stability’

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, highlighted the pivotal role of the United Nations in uniting global efforts to advance international security and stability.

HRH Prince Salman was speaking as he attended yesterday the opening of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 79), held at the UN Headquarters in New York, on behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The opening session featured speeches from several heads of state and delegates, who stressed their countries’ commitment to supporting the international community’s efforts to resolve conflicts and foster regional and global peace.

Meeting HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister also met yesterday with the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, on the sidelines of the event.

His Royal Highness emphasised the crucial role played by international organisations and institutions in strengthening global security, peace and stability.

He acknowledged their dedicated efforts to support development through innovative initiatives and programmes that address pressing global challenges.

HRH Prince Salman also recognised the UN’s initiatives to promote international collaboration and multilateralism in tackling these challenges.

His Royal Highness reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to enhancing cooperation and coordination with the UN.

The latest regional and international developments were reviewed, and topics of common interest were discussed.
