Emirates has announced the expansion of its flight schedule to Madagascar, increasing services from four to six weekly flights starting 2 April 2025. The move follows the airline's successful launch to the island nation in September 2024 and aims to support Madagascar’s tourism ambitions by accommodating more leisure visitors and promoting the destination to global audiences.

The decision to boost operations was unveiled during a press conference held today in Antananarivo, attended by representatives from Madagascar’s Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Tourism, and Emirates. The increase responds to significant demand for passenger services between Madagascar's capital and Dubai, with current flights operating near full capacity.

Essa Sulaiman Ahmad, Emirates’ Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for West Asia and the Indian Ocean, commented:
"We are pleased to enhance our services to Madagascar by adding two more flights per week, addressing the strong demand for travel since operations began. This expansion offers better connectivity, greater convenience, and more options for travelers. It also strengthens economic ties between Madagascar and the UAE, boosting both leisure and business travel while increasing cargo capacity to support trade."

The added flights are expected to bolster Madagascar’s tourism sector, creating economic opportunities and benefiting local communities as visitor arrivals grow. Emirates has actively promoted the island across its network, highlighting Madagascar’s unique charm, vibrant culture, and stunning natural landscapes.

The expanded schedule, linking Dubai and Antananarivo via Mahe, will operate on all days except Mondays. Emirates recently introduced a temporary increase in services to five weekly flights to meet seasonal demand, and the upcoming adjustment represents a significant enhancement of its capacity on the route.

"We will continue supporting Madagascar’s tourism agenda and raising awareness of the island’s beauty to ensure sustainable growth in visitor traffic," Ahmad added.

Emirates’ increased connectivity underscores its commitment to driving tourism and trade in Madagascar while offering more choice and convenience for travelers exploring the Indian Ocean destination.
