In a pivotal statement, Muhannad Hadi, the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator for the Occupied Palestinian Territory, has emphasized the readiness of the humanitarian system to deliver large-scale relief in Gaza as a ceasefire approaches.

“The United Nations and our partners are prepared to act swiftly, as every second counts,” Hadi declared, underscoring the urgency of the situation.

He acknowledged the constructive dialogue held with mediators in Cairo, which led to agreements on key humanitarian measures in the first phase of the ceasefire. These measures include delivering vital supplies such as water, food, healthcare, and shelter to the people of Gaza, as well as the much-anticipated release of hostages.

Expressing gratitude to the mediators and all parties involved, Hadi highlighted the critical role entrusted to the UN and its partners in implementing these humanitarian efforts.

“Achieving the set targets will require a united effort,” he said, reaffirming the UN’s commitment to ensuring the successful execution of the agreements and supporting initiatives that pave the way for a second phase and a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

Hadi appealed to mediators, involved parties, community leaders, donors, and the international community to collaborate effectively for timely and meaningful implementation. He emphasized that the shared goal must remain saving lives and addressing urgent needs in alignment with humanitarian principles.

As the region braces for the ceasefire, the statement reflects the UN’s determination to alleviate suffering and bring hope to the people of Gaza through coordinated global action.
