As speculation swirls about Donald Trump’s return to the White House, questions arise about where his first foreign visit as president would take him. Would it be Saudi Arabia, the site of his unconventional 2017 debut on the international stage, or the United Kingdom, traditionally a close U.S. ally?

Trump has hinted at a potential repeat trip to Saudi Arabia, tying the decision to economic incentives. Reflecting on his first visit, he noted that the kingdom’s agreement to purchase $450 billion worth of American goods was a driving factor. "If Saudi Arabia wanted to buy another $450 or $500 billion—we’d adjust for inflation—I think I probably would go there," Trump remarked, underscoring his transactional approach to foreign policy.

However, the UK, often referred to as America’s "special relationship" partner, could also be in the running. A visit to the UK would align with longstanding diplomatic traditions and reinforce ties with one of the United States’ closest allies.

While Trump has not committed to either destination, his decision will likely reflect his characteristic emphasis on economic and strategic benefits, setting the tone for his foreign policy agenda.
