A plane carrying 176 passengers and crew caught fire just before takeoff at a South Korean airport on Tuesday, fire authorities confirmed. One person sustained minor injuries in the incident.

The fire service reported that the blaze started inside the aircraft, with local news agency Yonhap stating that the flames originated in the plane’s tail section. Emergency crews responded swiftly, evacuating all passengers and crew before the fire could spread further.

The incident comes just one month after South Korea witnessed its deadliest air disaster in recent history. In December, a Jeju Air flight from Bangkok crashed on the runway at Muan Airport during an emergency belly landing, killing all but two of the 181 people on board.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the latest fire, as concerns over aviation safety in the country remain high.
