Emirates has taken a significant step in enhancing operational efficiency and safety by signing an agreement with Airbus to implement the cutting-edge Skywise Fleet Performance+ (S.FP+) predictive maintenance and fleet health monitoring solution, alongside the Core X3 analytics platform. This strategic move is set to optimize the airline’s fleet management and ensure top-tier reliability for its Airbus A380 and A350 aircraft.
The agreement was officially signed by Ahmed Safa, Head of Emirates Engineering, and Laurent Negre, Vice President, Customer Services Airbus Africa and Middle East. The adoption of the S.FP+ solution will enable Emirates Engineering teams to leverage real-time aircraft performance and health data, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues mid-flight and during turnaround operations.
“As a highly efficient, customer-centric operation, Emirates is always seeking to incorporate advanced technologies that enhance operational reliability, minimize unscheduled downtime, and maintain our fleet at the highest standards. Implementing Airbus’s Skywise Fleet Performance+ will further support our Airbus fleet, transforming traditional maintenance activities into precision-led, streamlined processes that ultimately elevate the customer experience,” said Ahmed Safa.
Laurent Negre echoed this sentiment, stating, “We are proud to strengthen our collaboration with Emirates through the deployment of Skywise Fleet Performance+ and Core X3. These solutions will improve fleet performance, reduce downtime, and enhance operational efficiency, ultimately benefiting passengers.”
The Skywise Fleet Performance+ platform offers automated pre-departure monitoring of cabin temperatures, key systems, and operations, powered by advanced analytics. It integrates the Aircraft Condition Monitoring System (ACMS) to provide real-time predictive diagnostics, alerts, and comprehensive status insights for Emirates’ Airbus fleet. Additionally, the Core X3 analytics platform will streamline Emirates Engineering’s data management by consolidating multiple systems into a single, intuitive interface for enhanced decision-making.
Emirates Engineering has long been at the forefront of aviation analytics, utilizing digital technologies to maximize fleet availability while driving cost and network efficiencies. The airline is actively advancing maintenance operations through next-generation predictive and prognostic technologies. Current initiatives include the deployment of drone-assisted aircraft inspections and the exploration of virtual and augmented reality for maintenance tasks.
