Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday ahead of an important meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump. In a post on X, Modi expressed his eagerness to engage in discussions with the U.S. president, stating, "Landed in Washington DC a short while ago. Looking forward to meeting President Donald Trump and building upon the India-USA Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership."

Modi also emphasized the continued collaboration between the two nations, saying, "Our nations will keep working closely for the benefit of our people and for a better future for our planet."

The upcoming talks are expected to address key issues, including India’s trade deficit, with Modi likely to propose a range of trade concessions. Other topics for discussion include energy and defense cooperation.

Modi, who is the fourth foreign leader to visit Trump since his inauguration, is also scheduled to meet with tech billionaire Elon Musk and other members of the Trump administration.

The highly anticipated meeting between Modi and Trump will take place at the White House on Thursday afternoon.
