Saudi Couple Found Dead in Tent
A Saudi couple tragically lost their lives after succumbing to carbon monoxide poisoning inside their tent during a desert trip in Qurayyat, Al Jawf Province, northern Saudi Arabia.
The victims, identified as Qablan Al Sharari and his wife, had embarked on an excursion to collect truffles and enjoy the wilderness. Traveling over 400 kilometers, they set up camp east of Sakaka, unaware of the danger that awaited them.
Authorities revealed that the couple used charcoal inside their enclosed tent for warmth, unknowingly inhaling the toxic fumes. The buildup of carbon monoxide—a colorless, odorless gas—led to fatal asphyxiation while they slept.
Emergency responders discovered the couple lifeless after concerns were raised about their whereabouts. Investigators confirmed that the cause of death was exposure to carbon monoxide, a silent killer that deprives the body of oxygen without warning.
Officials have reiterated warnings about the dangers of using charcoal in confined spaces, urging campers and outdoor enthusiasts to ensure proper ventilation to prevent similar tragedies.
