Moscow has confirmed that it has struck a deal with Kyiv and the Red Cross to facilitate the evacuation of civilians from Russia's war-torn Kursk region, parts of which have been captured by Ukrainian forces. Russia's rights commissioner, Tatyana Moskalkova, provided the details on Monday, explaining that the agreement will allow civilians to be safely evacuated from the affected areas.

Moskalkova stated that some civilians have already been relocated to Ukraine's Sumy region. As part of the deal, they will be evacuated through Belarus to Russia. The arrangement, which involves both the Red Cross and Ukrainian officials, aims to protect civilians caught in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

This development comes as part of a broader effort to ensure the safety and well-being of civilians in the regions affected by the ongoing war. Moscow’s announcement of the evacuation deal signals a commitment to international cooperation to mitigate the human toll of the conflict.
