Bridge Collapse at Expressway Construction Site in South Korea Kills Four, Injures Six
A tragic bridge collapse at an expressway construction site in Anseong, South Korea, claimed the lives of four workers and left six others injured on Tuesday morning, authorities confirmed.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:50 a.m. at a construction site on the Seoul-Sejong expressway, located about 65 kilometers south of Seoul, according to Yonhap News Agency. Several slabs placed on a pier suddenly gave way, crashing to the ground and striking or burying 10 workers present at the scene.

Emergency responders rushed to the site, but despite their efforts, four workers succumbed to their injuries. Five others sustained serious injuries, while one worker suffered minor wounds, according to fire authorities.

One of the deceased was retrieved from under the rubble at around 2:20 p.m., marking the conclusion of the rescue operations. Authorities are now investigating the cause of the structural failure to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The collapse has raised concerns about safety measures at major infrastructure projects in South Korea, with calls for stricter regulations and enhanced oversight to ensure worker safety.
