2-year-old India girl wins GMC truck in raffle draw

Dubai, the city of millionaires has created many people rich overnight and the latest to enter this long list of winners is a two-and-half years old girl.

Vaiga Suresh won a GMC four-wheel vehicle in a raffle draw held by an Indian food processing company in the UAE. Vaiga  is the youngest lucky winner of the vehicle worth more than Dh100,000 from thousands of users of Sara processed food products, especially curry powders, sold through various outlets in the UAE. 

The young girls father, Suresh, said he purchased some foodstuff worth Dh30 from the Lulu outlet in the Arabian Center and got two raffle coupons.

“Since I got two raffle coupons, I wrote my name in one coupon and on the second one, I wrote my daughter's name. The coupon with her name was picked  up in the raffle draw,” said a jubilant Suresh, a sales executive who has been living in Dubai for more than a decade. “This is the first time my family has won any raffle prize and that too my young daughter brought us luck,” said Suresh, who received the mock key for the GMC vehicle from Ashraf Ali, ED, EMKE group, Bobby M Jacob, MD, Anna Aluminium & Saras group at the Sangrila Hotel on Wednesday.

Another Indian family, Shamseer AP too won a GMC vehicle after his raffle coupon was selected for the price from the Abu Dhabi outlets of Lulu. A travel sales executive of Cruise Express said he bought Saras group products form the Al Wahada Mall of Emke Group in Abu Dhabi and is happy to be the winner from Abu Dhabi.

“I am happy to be the winner of a GMC vehicle. However, I don’t have a driving license and will think about what to do with the vehicle.” He too came with his child and wife to receive the key for the four-wheel drive. Shaji B General Manager, Orbex General Trading LLC, Dubai which handles Saras Group products in the UAE too was present in the prize giving ceremony. Al Gandhi Motors too take part in the Saras Lulu GMC promotions.
