Dubai Ranked World’s Top Destination for Greenfield FDI for Fourth Consecutive Year

Dubai has retained its position as the world’s leading destination for Greenfield Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) projects for the fourth consecutive year, according to data from the Financial Times Ltd.’s fDi Markets.
In 2024, Dubai attracted AED 52.3 billion ($14.24 billion) in estimated FDI capital, marking a 33.2% increase from AED 39.26 billion ($10.69 billion) in 2023. This represents the highest FDI value ever recorded for the emirate in a single year since 2020.
The city also set a new record by securing 1,117 Greenfield FDI projects, the highest number in its history. Additionally, Dubai reached a historic milestone with 1,826 announced FDI projects, an 11% increase from 1,650 projects in 2023, according to the Dubai FDI Monitor.
In 2024, FDI contributed to the creation of 58,680 jobs, a 31% increase compared to the 44,745 jobs generated in 2023. Dubai also advanced from fourth to third place globally in terms of jobs created through inward FDI, securing the top spot in the Middle East and Africa region.
The city saw a surge in talent attraction across key sectors such as business services, IT, real estate, transportation, financial services, and communications, reinforcing its status as a top global hub for investment and innovation. This continued success highlights Dubai’s dynamic business environment, strategic economic policies, and its growing appeal to skilled professionals.
