At least 51 people have lost their lives and more than 100 others are injured after a devastating fire broke out at a nightclub in Kocani, North Macedonia. The blaze occurred in the early hours of the morning, around 03:00 local time, at the Pulse club, located approximately 100 km east of the capital, Skopje.

Social media footage shows the building engulfed in flames, with thick plumes of smoke rising into the night sky. The club was hosting a concert by ADN, a popular hip-hop duo, with as many as 1,500 people reportedly attending.

Initial reports suggest that the fire may have been sparked by pyrotechnic devices used during the performance. Footage from the scene shows sparks from the stage catching the ceiling before the fire rapidly spread. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and some arrests have already been made, according to Interior Minister Pance Toskovski.

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski expressed his deep sorrow in a statement on Facebook, calling the incident a "difficult and very sad day" for the country. He confirmed that the government is fully mobilized to address the aftermath of the tragedy and to investigate the cause of the fire.

The incident has shocked the nation, as many of the victims were young people, leaving a community in mourning. The Prime Minister also pledged that the government would take all necessary actions to ensure that justice is served and that similar tragedies are prevented in the future.
