Authorities in Abu Dhabi have successfully contained a fire that erupted on Friday afternoon at a construction site located on Yas Island.

The Abu Dhabi Police responded swiftly to the incident, with Civil Defence teams on the scene. Several fire trucks from Abu Dhabi Civil Defence were seen at the site, working to bring the situation under control. By 3:15 pm, the heavy smoke emanating from the area had significantly diminished, signaling the successful containment of the fire.

In a statement later that evening, Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi confirmed that it would resume operations as normal on Saturday, March 29, and continue welcoming visitors throughout the upcoming Eid holiday. The waterpark, situated near the affected construction site, reassured guests that their planned water adventures would not be impacted by the incident.

Yas Waterworld, which opened its doors on January 22, 2013, boasts more than 40 rides, slides, and attractions, along with seasonal events and live shows. The park is part of the broader entertainment hub on Yas Island, which includes other major attractions like Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, CLYMB Abu Dhabi, and the soon-to-open SeaWorld Abu Dhabi.
