The Philippine government has officially declared Tuesday, April 1, 2025, as a regular holiday nationwide in observance of Eid Al Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan.

The announcement follows the confirmed sighting of the Shawwal crescent moon on Sunday, March 30, 2025. The Bangsamoro Grand Mufti, Sheikh Abdulrauf A. Guialani, verified the sighting and declared Monday, March 31, 2025, as the official day of Eid Al Fitr celebrations in the country.

Eid Al Fitr, also known as the "Festival of Breaking the Fast," is a significant religious holiday for Muslims worldwide. In the Philippines, where a substantial Muslim population resides, the occasion is widely observed, particularly in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

The holiday declaration by Malacañang ensures that Filipinos, especially the Muslim community, can celebrate Eid Al Fitr with prayers, gatherings, and festive meals, reinforcing the country's recognition of cultural and religious diversity.
