A heartbreaking incident unfolded in the Sedroh area of Old Ras Al Khaimah last Friday, as a two-year-old Pakistani boy tragically drowned after falling into a bucket of water at his family home.

The toddler, identified as Abdullah Mohammed Mohammed Ali, is believed to have climbed into a laundry bucket filled with water that was kept in the kitchen. The accident reportedly occurred while his father was away at the mosque for Friday prayers, and his mother was busy preparing lunch and attending to household chores.

The child was discovered unresponsive and was immediately rushed to Saqr Government Hospital, where medical staff attempted to revive him through CPR. Sadly, doctors confirmed that he could not be saved and had suffered brain damage from prolonged lack of oxygen.

Police ruled out any foul play, classifying the incident as a tragic domestic accident. Officials confirmed that the incident took place inside the family’s kitchen.

The boy’s father, Mohammed Mohammed Ali, shared that the family has been devastated by the loss. "We are heartbroken. Abdullah was the youngest of our five children," he said. The grieving family includes three sons aged 15, 12, and 10, and a seven-year-old daughter.

Authorities have since handed over the child’s body to the family for burial.

In light of the tragedy, Ras Al Khaimah authorities have urged all parents to remain alert and implement safety measures around the home, especially when it comes to water-filled containers or other household hazards that pose risks to young children.
