Cristiano Ronaldo and renowned director Matthew Vaughn have launched UR•Marv, a new independent film studio aimed at disrupting traditional filmmaking practices.
The innovative studio seeks to blend cutting-edge technology with a respect for classic filmmaking traditions, creating a unique approach to the industry. UR•Marv has already made a significant impact, with two action films completed under its banner, both financed and produced by Vaughn and Ronaldo. A third film, part of the same action-packed series, is currently in development. Details of the first film are expected to be revealed shortly.
“I’m thrilled to start this new chapter and explore new opportunities in business,” Ronaldo shared. “Cristiano has created stories on the pitch that I could never have written, and I look forward to creating inspiring movies with him – he’s a real-life superhero,” Vaughn added.
Vaughn, a British filmmaker celebrated for his dynamic storytelling and innovative approach to action, has earned a reputation for creating memorable, high-energy films. His directorial credits include “Layer Cake” (2004), “Kick-Ass” (2010), and “X-Men: First Class” (2011), each showcasing his ability to mix sharp wit with intense action sequences. In 2014, he gained international recognition with the “Kingsman” franchise, a stylish blend of espionage and violent satire. Vaughn’s production company, Marv, has become a creative powerhouse, launching spin-offs and exploring new cross-platform content. His latest project, “Argylle” (2024), is a spy thriller featuring an all-star cast, including Henry Cavill and Bryce Dallas Howard. Vaughn is also continuing to expand the “Kingsman” universe with two more films in development.
With UR•Marv, Ronaldo and Vaughn aim to bring their passion for excellence and storytelling to the big screen, creating a new wave of films that fuse action, innovation, and timeless entertainment.
