Tourist Helicopter Crashes into Hudson River, Killing All Six Aboard

A tourist helicopter operated by New York Helicopter Tours crashed into the Hudson River near Lower Manhattan on Thursday, killing all six people on board, including a Siemens executive and three children from Spain.
The Bell 206 aircraft went down shortly after 3 p.m., hitting the water upside down and sinking rapidly. Emergency crews responded swiftly, recovering all victims—four were declared dead at the scene, while two others died at area hospitals.
Authorities confirmed the helicopter was flying in a Special Flight Rules Area without air traffic control oversight. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board have launched a full investigation into the crash.
