Briton detained for Amsterdam airport bomb hoax
A 29-year-old Briton was arrested Friday at Amsterdam's Schiphol airport after he claimed he was carrying explosives, prompting the temporary evacuation of a departure lounge, Dutch media reported.
"We first checked if the man had anything on him ... then we searched his bags with dogs. We found nothing and the situation returned to normal," a police spokesman told Dutch radio.
Media reports showed pictures of the unnamed man splayed face down on the floor with a policeman's weapon trained on him before he was escorted away.
The reports added the lounge was cleared as a precaution for some 20 minutes.
