Man denies raping teacher

The Dubai Police have arrested an African man over a rape complaint received from a British teacher. However, the suspect denied the accusation and said the complainant was drunk and approached him for sex.

According to the police, the operation room received an information about a rape, which took place in a residential building in Dubai Silicon area, on the new year's day. The complainant, a 36-year-old Brit, told the police that he met the 30-year-old suspect when she was waiting for the elevator. Both of them took the same lift and when she was opening the flat, the suspect pushed her inside the room and raped her.

According to the suspect, a salesman, on January 1, around 1:30, he went to the building to meet his friend living on the 18th floor. As his friend is not there, he returned to the reception, where he found the British teacher who sought his help to carry some bags to her studio flat on 25th floor.

He added that they had consensual sex and requested the police to check cameras to see that she let him inside the flat. The woman failed to give more details to the police about the rape. The probe continues.
