Severely disabled man convicted of child molestation

A severely disabled man has been convicted of child molestation after sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl at her birthday party in east Germany.

According to Daily Mail, The man, identified as Tomy S, has no arms and no legs, and was invited to the party by the birthday girl's mother, a carer at the home for the disabled where he lives.

The 35-year-old was arrested after the young girl, only identified as Paula, told her mother that he had assaulted her during the party in Chemnitz, south of Leipzig.

Paula accused Tomy S. of molesting her after first offering to read to her and her friends a story in her bedroom, and then initiating a game where he was playing a vet who needed to 'examine her',

'Tomy was pretending to be a vet,' Paula told the court via video link.

'We were playing a game of dares, and he was allowed to examine me because he was the vet and he put his head on my stomach.

'Later he told the other children to leave the room and I had to take my trousers off and lay on the bed.'

The court heard that Tomy S. then used his head to 'interfere with her sexually'.

Tomy S. denied all accusations, telling the court Paula had made the story up, and that they had played no such game.

'What she is saying is just not correct. I spent the whole time reading stories to the children.'

The court found Tomy S guilty, and judge Michael Mularczyk said: 'You are just trying to protect yourself. We are convinced of your guilt.'

He was convicted of child sexual abuse and was given a suspended sentence of 11 months and has been banned from any future contact with the family.
