Air India pilot spots parachutes near Mumbai
An Air India pilot spotted four mysterious parachute-like objects minutes after take-off from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji airport on Friday, The Times of India reported. The objects were spotted at a distance of about 20km towards the south of the airport, for the third time this month.
They were reportedly noticed by the pilot of AI flight 671 bound for Chennai around 9.30am.
It was not clear if the unidentified flying objects (UFOs) were manned or not. "The aircraft was at 6,000 feet when the objects were sighted," said a source. They were yellow, red, blue and green in colour. The general manager of Mumbai ATC, could not be reached despite repeated attempts. AI did not confirm the sighting either.
Earlier this month, the city's Deputy Commissioner of Police had reportedly banned drones, paragliders, and microlight aircraft within city limits of Mumbai, till February 4 over fears of a possible terror attack.
