Man slaps fear into Filipina after stealing her mobile
A Pakistani worker is accused of snatching a woman’s mobile and then going back to scare her as she began to shout for help, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
On December 28, at around 6.30am, while RK, 38, a Filipina teacher was heading to work at the Metro station on Abu Bakr Al Siddiqi street, someone held her left shoulder, snatched her mobile phone and pushed her to the ground.
“As I fell, I started shouting and screaming while the attacker was running away.
“All of a sudden he turned back and came to me and hit me. I got scared and so I stayed on the floor, seeing him walking away slowly and quietly.
“When I saw some people, I asked them for help. They ran after him and caught him,” said the woman.
However, the accused has in the meantime thrown the mobile phone it a garbage bin.
Ten minutes later police arrived and arrested MY, 25.
The court will give its verdict on March 16.
