Video of Makkah hospital negligence sparks outrage

A videoclip of a woman  going on a rant, explaining the negligence she faced inside Al-Noor Hospital in Makkah, to its staff,  has sparked an outrage among the Twitter users.

After helping her friend receive treatment, the woman was clearly tired and in need of answers from the medical staff, yet appeared to be entirely ignored by them, sparking accusations of negligence by social media users.

The woman in question, well-known twitter commentator Sarah Al-Wadani, went to the hospital to check on her friend, yet said that when she approached reception she could not find an employee there to help her. She said that she later found one of the staff and asked her, “Where is emergency?”, to which the staff member allegedly replied that she didn’t know anything and could not help her.

Sarah said that the doctors there did not treat her well, and were focusing on their mobiles rather than being concerned with answering her query.

She noted that a Filipino nurse was impolite with her, too, saying: “I am not a servant of you, and I won’t do any analysis", observing that she along with the other people waiting in the hospital were dealt with inside the facility as though it was a “zoo”, according to Ajel.

People on Twitter went ballistic with comments directed at the hospital, calling on the Health Ministry to investigate this matter. One patient said that urgent action needs to be taken so that the staff understand that people's lives are not something that should be played with.

Another commentator said that everything Sarah said also happened to him in the past, and that this shouldn’t be allowed to occur on a regular basis because Saudi Arabia is not a poor country.

Mishari, another patient, said that the ministry needs to act quickly because the Al-Noor Hospital is the face of care for all Haj pilgrims, making the issue extra important.
