Rains and thunderstorms in Abu Dhabi and Dubai
The UAE’s weather bureau has confirmed heavy rainfall has commenced in parts of Abu Dhabi and Dubai at noon on Tuesday.
The NCMS stated: “Heavy rain over Abu Dhabi-Dubai road, Bani Yas and Khalifa City.”
Motorists around Dubai Sports City have also reported scattered showers in the vicinity since 11.30am, while people at the Dubai World Drone Prix are also reporting heavy rain and strong winds in the area.
Rain in UAE for next three days
As the UAE, along with neighbouring Oman and Qatar, brace for 'unstable weather' to sweep across the region, authorities warn residents to follow bulletins and adhere to caution.
On Tuesday morning, NCMS tweeted: "Rain over Khalifa city and some of the surroundings".
The UAE experienced thunderstorms and scattered rainfall over most of Monday, even as Oman combats flash-floods across pockets of the country.
Even Qatar hasn't escaped the wrath of the weather, with the country's Met office tweeting in the early hours of Tuesday: "Scattered thunder showers are observed. Please be careful and avoid venturing into sea."
The weather in the UAE is 'likely to remain unstable', according to the country's National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS), which added: "The amount of clouds will increase over scattered areas and towering clouds may develop with chance of scattered rain."
The rainfall will be accompanied with moderate winds, freshening at times, while the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea could become rough in case of cloud activity.
The UAE’s National Center for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has confirmed Friday could see a few convective clouds accumulating over the eastern part of the country by noon, but the scattered showers would be few and limited.
The tumultuous weather will resurrect itself once again on Saturday, with an increase of clouds over the islands and the west by late night.
The Mercury is expected to rise further, stated the weather bureau, before taking a dip on Sunday following scattered showers across the western part of UAE, namely Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
The sea is expected to be moderate on Friday and most of Saturday, becoming rough at times in the Arabian Gulf with the vicinity of clouds.
