Live Science Exhibition attracts over 31,000 visitors
Abu Dhabi : 'Live Science', the joint initiative of the Abu Dhabi Education Council, ADEC, and Mubadala Development Company, Mubadala, came to a successful close this week at Mushrif Central Park in Abu Dhabi. Over the course of its five-week run, Live Science attracted over 31,000 visitors who experienced the transformative innovations on display and a series of educational workshops.
During the event, students had the opportunity explore the world of aerospace, science and technology through its enthralling exhibition and interactive workshops. Boeing’s Above and Beyond interactive science exhibition presented a wide array of technologically advanced displays including the supersonic fighter-jet virtual competition and aircraft simulation among many others. The exhibition commemorated Boeing’s 100th anniversary in 2016, and was developed in collaboration with NASA and the Smithsonian Institution, along with leading experts and institutions from around the world.
Simultaneously, the "lema?" i.e. (Why?) workshops, organised by Abu Dhabi Technology Development Committee, TDC, and held under the patronage of Her Highness Shaikha Shamsa bint Hamdan bin Mohamed Al Nahyan, wife of the Ruler's Representative in the Western Region, offered students an informal science education programme. Through the workshops, visitors learnt more about the wonders of science, including soundwaves through time and the mechanism of robotics.
Live Science was co-sponsored by the Nebras Al Ain Aerospace Park, a multi-faceted joint development project by Mubadala, Abu Dhabi Airports Company, ADAC, and Yahsat, the UAE-based satellite operator.
