Arad housing project phase two on track

The second phase of the massive Arad housing project is on the right track, according to the Ministry of Housing.

The Ministry revealed that 98 per cent of the multi-phased project has already been completed, expecting the scheme to be finalised within one month.

In a statement yesterday, the Ministry said efforts are being stepped up to complete the remaining work and deliver the housing units to eligible recipients.

Construction and maintenance director Hussain Al Omari also confirmed that the infrastructure works are being completed. These include sewerage, water, electricity and telecommunications components, in addition to street lampposts and asphalting.

The Arad housing project is made up of 351 housing units, built on 15.45 hectare.

The first phase of the residential project featured 138 housing units while 2014 units were included in the second phase.

Nine other housing units will be constructed in the coming period as part of the last phase of the project.

Arad project builds on other housing schemes, which are being constructed across the Bahrain, in line with the royal order issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to build 40,000 units.
