Woman flier arrested, led off plane in Dubai
Dubai: A fashion stylist flying from London to Dubai has received a lifetime ban from British Airways after arguing with another passenger on the flight.
Bridget Nhire was handcuffed and escorted off the flight after a man sitting behind her complained that she kept getting up from her seat, but the 33-year-old claims she did nothing wrong.
But passengers on the flight had a different story.
Daily Mail reports that a number of passengers described a series of in-flight incidents that included Nhire becoming intoxicated, making racist remarks to the crew, getting up from her seat at least 20 times, yelling, and even trying to get into the cockpit.
The fashion stylist claims she only got up three times, had two glasses of beverages with her onboard meal.
Nhire was eventually strapped to her seat and accompanied by a security guard, for the remaining 90 minutes of the flight.
There was even talk of making an emergency landing in Iran because of the woman's 'terrifying' antics.
Ultimately, after landing, she was escorted out and released after five hours.
She was eventually freed without charges and was alerted of her lifetime ban, which went into effect immediately.
When Nhire tried to return home on a British Airways flight 10 days later, she learned her ticket had been cancelled. She is now demanding the airline pay $500 for leaving her stranded.
