Coffee shop outlet ordered closed
Doha : An outlet of an an international coffee shop chain has been ordered to be closed for one week by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce for charging higher prices than advertised.
The closure comes within the framework of inspection campaigns carried out by the ministry in an effort to monitor the market and commercial activity in the State of Qatar, an official statement said.
“Inspectors from the Ministry fined the coffee shop and compelled its closure for a one-week period in line with article No (10) of law number No (8) of 2008 concerning consumer protection, as amended by decree-law No (14) of 2011”.
The administrative closure is published on the ministry’s website as well as two daily newspapers at the offending shop’s own expense in line with article (3) of law no (8) on consumer protection.
